  1. I own an electric car and cannot visit much of Dorset because there are no public electric car charging points.

If you wish to attract those who own an electric vehicle then public charging points are essential. (If you drove a petrol or diesel car would you visit a area where there were no filling stations?)

  2. Hi Anthony, The installation of Electric Vehicle Charge Points (EVCPs) is a high priority for Dorset Council. Our focus in the short term is on the installation of off-street charging points which is slightly more straightforward in practical terms, on land which Dorset Council owns (e.g. our own car parks and at some paid for on-street parking locations). We are currently in the early stages of identifying locations so that we can carry out feasibility work to ensure the sites proposed are suitable. Hope this helps, thanks, Kirstie
