At the request of Corfe Castle Parish Council, a set of three-way temporary lights at Corfe Castle will be removed on Monday (2 September).

The lights have been in place at the junction of the A351 and the B3351 since the beginning of August, to help manage additional traffic over the summer holidays while the Studland Ferry is out of action. The main concern was that drivers were taking considerable risks to get onto the main road from the B3351.
Dorset Council’s portfolio holder for Highways, Travel and Environment, Cllr Ray Bryan, said: “We are aware that some local people have not welcomed the temporary lights, but, having monitored traffic levels throughout the summer holidays, we are confident that they played a part in keeping people safe. We’re satisfied that traffic levels have returned to a manageable level and the lights can be removed.
“We will continue to have conversations with MPs and other partners about the frustrating situation with the Studland Ferry, which we know is impacting businesses and the wider community.”
