An oil spill training exercise will be held in Weymouth next week.

The exercise will last from Tuesday to Thursday (10-12 September) and will be carried out in the harbour and the south west corner of the bay, near the Peninsula Wall.
The training will be organised and carried out by Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) and signs will be on display to reassure the public.
Cllr Ray Bryan, Portfolio Holder for Environment, Highways and Travel, said: “I would like to reassure people that this is just an exercise. It is important that these training exercises are carried out. We hope any inconvenience will be minimal.”
Use of the harbour will not be restricted. Harbour users have been asked to be careful near the exercise, which will involve booms and other equipment.
