Work to repair the jetty at East Cliff in Lyme Regis will be begin today. (3/2)

Dorset Council has arranged for maintenance work to be carried out following winter storm damage.
A large excavator will be used and the work is expected to take around two weeks, although bad weather could cause delays.
Dorset Council apologises for any inconvenience. The site area is small and self-contained, so it is hoped that any disruption will be minimal.
Cllr Ray Bryan, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Environment, Transport and Highways, said: “This work is necessary to repair storm damage to the jetty. Hopefully any disruption will be minimal but please do bear with us.”
The works will involve resetting an area of the lias cladding and repositioning some of the large masonry blocks. A small temporary welfare unit will be set-up by the council’s contractor Hansford Construction Ltd. This will be removed as soon as the works are completed.
