Dorchester Market Car Boot Funds 2020

Community and voluntary organisations working in and around Dorchester will be pleased to hear that the Dorchester Market Car Boot Fund is open for applications.

The income from weekly Car Boots sales held in Dorchester is distributed annually to local community and voluntary organisations in and around Dorchester to benefit projects operating within or supporting residents living in the area. In 2019, just over £15,000 was awarded to local community and voluntary organisations in Dorchester.

Organisations who received funding included Dorchester & District Amateur Boxing Club £300 towards their running costs, Dorset Search & Rescue £200 for High Visibility jackets and Southwest Dorset Multicultural Network £800 for their Black History Month events.

Councillor Alford said: “It’s wonderful to award £15,000 to these local organisations. We recognise the hard work that they do to make lives better for others. Thank you to those who hire pitches at the car boot sale in Dorchester.”

The 2020 Car Boot Fund closes on the 30th April, decisions will be made in July and groups will be notified by the end of July.  All successful applicants will be invited to a celebration event later on in the year to share news about their projects.

An application form and additional guidance can be found on the Dorset for You website at https://www.dorsetforyou.gov.uk/your-community/support-for-voluntary-and-community-organisations/funding/dorchester-market-car-boot-fund.aspx
