Temporary lights in Gillingham will remain in place to help speed up cycleway works.
Three-way temporary lights for cycleway works on Le Neubourg Way will continue for the next four weeks. This will allow work on the northbound-side footway to be finished quicker and reopened as soon as possible.
This decision has been taken due to the traffic flows being lighter than usual.
The lights will be in use from 7.30am to 3.30pm between Church View and Wyke Street for the 180m stretch of construction. They will not be in use over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Unfortunately, this will cause some delay to drivers – please use an alternative route if possible.
Signalised pedestrian crossings will be in place across Wyke Street, across Le Neubourg Way north of Wyke Street and on Le Neubourg Way just north of Church View.
The lights were originally due to be in place for only two days while a low voltage electricity cable was vacuum excavated, due to the size of the equipment used for the operation.
