Questions about Bridport Gateway? Give us a call

We want to know what you think of our latest proposals for Bridport Gateway, an innovate community development looking to bring a more joined up approach to health, social care and housing in Bridport.

Earlier this month we shared the latest plans for the development and encouraged people to give feedback via our online survey.

Together with our partners on the project, Shaw Healthcare, Morgan Sindall Later Living and East Boro Housing Trust, we are also holding four phone-in sessions so that you can ask us questions directly and tell us what you think.

When are the phone-ins?

The first two phone-in sessions will take place this week on:

  • Wednesday 29 July from 2 – 5pm
  • Friday 31 July from 10am – 1pm

To take part people can call us on 01305 225850 at the times given above.

Don’t worry if you can’t make these sessions, more phone-ins are planned next week on:

  • Monday 3 August from 6 – 8pm
  • Thursday 6 August from 10am – 1pm

The questions, comments and feedback we receive will help shape the design process as a planning application is brought forward later this year.

What is Bridport Gateway?

Dorset Council is working with developers Shaw Healthcare and Morgan Sindall Later Living, and the registered housing provider East Boro Housing Trust to produce plans for the Bridport Gateway development

The scheme is part of the council’s Building Better Lives programme. This aims to deliver new, high quality accommodation, health and care services in Dorset for people who really need them.

If the proposals for Bridport Gateway get planning permission later this year, new care and housing facilities could be built on two sites off South Street, close to the town centre:

Other ways to give your feedback

If you can’t join the phone-in sessions, you can also give feedback by completing our online survey, emailing buildingbetterlives@dorsetcc.gov.uk, or by writing to:

We’re open to comments and questions about the latest proposals until Friday 7 August. We will collate these and share our responses to them as soon as possible after this date.

Next steps

We will use the feedback we gain from this process to help shape the designs for the Bridport Gateway scheme. The developers intend to bring forward a planning application later this year and, as part of the planning process, there will be another opportunity to have your say as part of a formal consultation process.
