Funding to support voluntary and community groups launches 2 August

Dorset Council Community Impact Fund (DCIF) round 5 is now open for applications. The fund aims to provide support to local groups and organisations that are helping vulnerable people and their local communities to recover and stay safe after the easing of lockdown. The fund will support at risk groups who have been affected by the pandemic and now need further support over the coming 6 months with the easing of restrictions.

Activities and projects funded must benefit people in the Dorset council area (excluding Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole) and be focussed upon helping vulnerable groups to stay healthy and safe.

Applications open from midnight on Sunday 2 August 2020 and closes midnight on Sunday 20 September 2020. Organisations and community groups can apply for up to £5,000. New and emerging groups (those with less than 6 months delivery experience and who may not have the normal governance in place) can apply for up to £1,000 provided they have a referee who will endorse their application and manage the funds on their behalf. Funding can be either capital, revenue or a mix of both and groups must be able to commence activities no more than 6 weeks after an award is made.

We are particularly keen to receive collaborative applications from several partners who are able to demonstrate impact and ongoing support for disadvantaged groups over the next 6 months. Funding must be used by the end of March 2021.

More details about criteria and eligibility and also a form to complete online is on the Dorset Council website.
