Do you, or does someone you know, need help with daily living?
A new website gives people the help and support they need to live safe and independent lives. It provides information about some of the most common queries people have, including:
- Applying for or renewing your Blue Badge
- Reporting a concern about someone who is vulnerable
- Guidance on financing and paying for care
- Finding equipment to live independently at home

Building better lives
Building Better Lives is our programme to build new care, housing and health facilities.
Wareham
In August we opened Red Oak Court, our innovative social housing development.
It provides 17 smart and compact units for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs, and people in urgent need of housing.
The units will stay on the old middle school site on Worgret Road while we work to bring forward plans for permanent homes and health and care facilities on the same site.
Once permanent homes are in place, we will be able to move the units to other areas in Dorset where there is a need.
Bridport
Plans for Bridport Gateway were shared with members of the public over the summer. The feedback is being used to shape the planning application for the scheme.
The project aims to develop a new nursing and dementia care home, and affordable housing for health and care workers.
If the proposals get planning permission, the development could be built on two sites, close to the town centre.
