Shared Lives Carers do an incredible job supporting people to live meaningful lives. But don’t just take our word for it! One of our amazing Carers will be joining the session so you can ask questions and find out what it’s like to share your life and give someone your care and support.

Find out how the role has flexed to fit around their lives and learn what they feel the most rewarding aspects of the job are.

Cllr Laura Miller, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care and Health said:

Being a Shared Lives Carer is more than just a job, it’s a vocationIt gives you the chance to really get to know the person you are caring for and make huge difference to their lives.

You can do the role from within your own home, but it’s not a requirement if this wouldn’t suit you and your circumstances. The role is highly flexible and you can choose whether you want to offer long term, short term, respite or day support.

I would urge everyone interested in this fantastic career to join the Dorset Shared Lives Team at this event – it could be start of an amazing journey.”

How do I join the event?

What is Shared Lives?

Put simply Shared Lives is a bit like fostering, but instead of helping children you would be offering care and support to an adult over the age of 18

Often Shared Lives Carers work from within their own homes, but the role is flexible and carers can choose whether they want to offer long term, short term, respite or day support.

Shared Lives Carers are self-employed and are paid for the care and support they provide. Learn more about Shared Lives.
