  1. Quite agree golf is a great sport to help recovery, for mental health, physical health is good for social interactions and is a competitive sport for all ages. It’s no longer elitist and is affordable. Golf course are a haven for a vast variety of wildlife and almost all have considerable amounts of mature trees and woodlands which contributed to reducing greenhouse gas , reduce global warming and improve air quality.
Given this page is promoting golf for a variety of reasons why is this Authority suggesting and promoting the closure of a very well established one and building 700 homes on it. If they own Moors Valley why don’t they build homes there.
There is clearly a case for investigation on why the inclusion of Dudsbury Golf Course in Ferndown is even being considered to be included in the new local 2021 plan.
Clearly this new Unitary Authority does not comply with it’s own policies Suggest the Secretary of State is informed of this issue and investigates if this new Unitary is competent to produce a new local plan.

  4. Little point in sending this information after the course has already started

  5. How about asking Weymouth Golf Club if you can establish sessions in the West where there are pockets of severe deprivation and poor health outcomes ?

    Colin Huckle.
    President Weymouth Golf Club

  6. We need to do this West of the County as well as over in the East. Weymouth has a Golf Club situated right near a large area of deprivation. The Weymouth Golf Club is also easier to get to than a lot of other Golf clubs as it is near public transport (unlike Came Down). We need to encourage people to get healthy, but it is also important to encourage young people to try out this new experience.

  7. All of these healthy initiatives are for people who don’t work. Nothing for people who have to work during the weekday!
