Dorset Road Fix – urban resurfacing August 2021

During the summer months we stop work on our strategic A and B roads, which become very busy with holiday traffic, and carry out repairs on our local/residential roads.

To allow this work to take place safely, the area of the road being worked on will be closed.

We will do our best to keep you updated if our schedule of work changes.

This is not an exhaustive list of all roads being repaired. Dorset Highways’ annual road maintenance programme, includes patching, micro-surfacing, surface dressing, in-situ recycling, road preservation and resurfacing treatments.

All planned road works can be found online.

Using a variety of surface treatments ensures that more of Dorset Council’s roads get repaired with the budget available, compared to using resurfacing alone.

Please use our online form to report road-related issues/damage. This goes directly to the local community highways officer for assessment.

  1. I had expected Okeford Fitzpaine’s main north-south road to be resurfaced in this autumn’s programme as it has been on DC’s urgent list now for some years and I was told near the top last year.

    1. Expect nothing but excuses from Dorset county council while they take your cash for their own vanity projects.

  2. why has DCC highways charted traffic off the 350 onto melbury abbas? What was the incidents evident on the crash corners of snakey hill ? two or more accidents in what period of time? what level of pollution is sitting in the once quiet hamlet of melbury abbas? I am told it has something to do with Camilla’s family and string pulling to stop traffic on the lower road 350 …mmmm sounds like Dorset cc!
