Planning convergence and transformation October 2021

We will be transferring the planning and land charges information for the former East Dorset District Council into the new Dorset Council planning platform. This is the fifth phase of six to move all former district, borough, and county planning systems into one.

This means that the planning website will not be available from 5pm Friday 1 October. Once the data is transferred, we will test all areas of planning to make sure there has been no omissions or corruptions. This will mean that we will have transferred 4.3 million documents so far in this project. We hope to have the website back up by the end of Wednesday 6 October. We will be extending consultation deadlines that fall within the downtime, to allow people additional time to respond

New system

The new system includes some changes in functionality. The online system allows everyone to create their own weekly lists of planning applications, tailored to their particular areas of interest. The council will not be providing weekly lists of planning applications once the data has been migrated to the new system. The website will be developed further once convergence of all our former systems has been completed. When we are at this development stage, we would like to work with you to design tools and functions that will help improve this service.

Weekly lists

Weekly Lists that have previously been provided will no longer be sent. The online functions will allow you to create your own weekly lists

Wimborne Market

The details of planning application 3/21/1556/ful – Wimborne market, station terrace, Wimborne Minster are being discussed at special meeting of the eastern area committee on Wednesday 13 October at 2pm. The documents will be available throughout the down time. It closes for comments on Thursday 30 September.
