Road maintenance
Using a variety of surface treatments ensures that more of Dorset Council’s roads get repaired with the budget available, compared to using resurfacing alone.
- In-situ recycling work is taking place on minor roads throughout the county
- Our surface dressing work is underway
- Micro-surfacing is underway on residential roads
Please use our online form to report highway-related issues/damage. This goes directly to the local community highways officer for assessment.
New road on the bend bellow the former Porsche garage could do with a make-over as at times the noise and reverberation is seriously loud when used by most of the larger vehicles!
Not just patched up as in the past, which is done on an add hock basis and lasts for a few months.
Is it not a pointless waste of resources and money if you are just going to resurface Julians Road Wimborne unless you are going to sort and reinforce the sub base, which, looking at the condition of parts of the surface has deteriorated, probably by water damage/drainage problems. There was an attempt prior to resurfacing a few years ago but it is even worse now.
When is the terrible road surface in Shipton Lane being renewed? This is the road from Burton Bradstock to Shipton Gorge.
The road from Burton Bradstock to Shipton Gorge is in a terrible state. When is this road due for repairs?
Hi Allan, I can see on our system that we’re aware of the poor condition of Shipton Road and it is on the list for resurfacing but has not yet been given a date.
I live in Prunus Drive, Ferndown. Outside number 5 when it rains a large puddle collects because it isn’t raised sufficiently to get to the drainage points, can you please feed this into the resurfacing program due soon
Hi Lester, please can you use our online form to report this issue: https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roads-highways-maintenance/report-a-problem-on-the-road-or-pavement it will get assigned to the local highways officer to assess the problem.
For weeks now I’ve had vibration and noise throughout my bungalow from the roadworks on. Wimbourne Road east. Its making my nerves bad and waking me up. Builders also screaming and shouting Should be able to get some sort of compensation!
Why has most of the pavements around Whincroft Close been resurfaced and our Pavements are still too dangerous to walk on, i have fallen and Fractured my neck of Femur 3 years ago and my next door neighbour has fallen too. I look forward to your early reply.
Pamela O’Neill-East. No 17.
Hi Pamela, please can you use our online form to report the poor pavement condition: https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roads-highways-maintenance/report-a-problem-on-the-road-or-pavement this will be assigned to the local highways officer to assess the damage and arrange any necessary repairs.
On our estate the side roads of Forest Way and Paddock Close are being done. But the main through road of Forest View Drive is not scheduled. The surface on that road is very bad in places. Also around number 71 [approx] there is a large hidden dip in the road which has become dangerous for bicycles and especially motor bikes. This is getting worse and needs fixing urgently
Hi David, please can you use our online form to report this damage: https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roads-highways-maintenance/report-a-problem-on-the-road-or-pavement It will be assigned to the community highways officer to assess for repair.
Don’t bother. At least a year ago I pointed out a poorly repaired manhole and I’m still waiting for acknowledgement – let alone getting it fixed.
Why is Badgers Close in Ashley Heath NOT on the list . Badly needs doing. You have done all surrounding roads
What’s happend to the Bridle Way and Stirrup close resurfacing ?
There was signs up with dates for the works to commence and now they’re gone ????
