Using a variety of surface treatments ensures that more of Dorset Council’s roads get repaired with the budget available, compared to using resurfacing alone. Find out more about our road maintenance.

Please use our online form to report highway-related issues/damage. This goes directly to the local community highways officer for assessment.

This is not an exhaustive list of all repairs. See our online map to view all planned roadworks across the Dorset Council area, including works undertaken by Wessex Water, telecoms companies, National Highways and other organisations.

  1. Lynmoor Road, Weymouth, DT4 7TW is in an appalling state. This was first aired in 2011 and to date still nothing happens!
Are there any plans to fix this road now we are in 2013?

    1. Hi Roger, the road is planned for surface dressing this spring/summer. Surface dressing is a preventative measure to keep the road in good condition, so we are sorry that it has been postponed from earlier planned dates. Claire

      1. A letter from the council said they would be resurfacing the footways in DT8 3JQ today; nothing is happening and it has been necessary to to move our cars ,in some cases to our lawns. What is happening?

        1. Hi Tessa, the programme was delayed due to the inclement weather, so weather permitting, our crew will be on site on Wednesday 12 April to start the works.

With all our surface treatments, the weather plays a big part, so the letters are based on forecasts. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused, but hope we can go ahead as planned on the 12th Best wishes, Claire

  2. When Glennie way is shut between between 9am and 4pm from the 14th 16th February. How do residents get out of Trenchard Way. I will be coming and going all day and will be expecting deliveries.
    Thanks

    1. Hi John, when we carry out works we send households affected a letter with a set of questions and answers on the reverse which explain about access arrangements. Homes in Trenchard Way are on the letter list so you will receive one if you haven’t already. Regarding coming and going, at times we may need to ask you to wait while we complete a task, and site traffic operatives and surfacing crews will always assist you as far as possible. Please talk to the Chargehand on site to make arrangements regarding your deliveries. Claire
