Residents planning to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III only have just over a week left to apply for a FREE road closure.
The Coronation will be celebrated across the country and marked with a three-day bank holiday weekend from Saturday 6 May to Monday 8 May with opportunities for people to be part of the historic occasion.
Anyone interested in hosting a Coronation Street Party is being asked to complete an application for road closure by the deadline of Friday, March 31.
Head to our road closure page to find out more.
Holding a small outside event with neighbours, on private land, does not need council permission. However, if you plan a street party that involves the closure of a public road, we need to check the road is suitable.

The website also has an interactive map which will display events and activities that will be taking place in Dorset as well as the rest of UK, and you can add details of your own event to the site.
Town and Parish Councils across Dorset will also be organising events, so check out your local information sites to see what’s happening near you.
Cllr Val Pothecary, Chairman of Dorset Council, said:
“Street parties are a great way to mark this historic occasion and bring communities together. So far there have been over 30 applications for road closures, and we want to encourage more of our residents to host community street parties – across the county.
“It’s easy to apply for a road closure, but with just over a week left to apply, don’t delay!”
National guidance on organising a street party for the Coronation is available online here. Meanwhile, the Coronation Big Lunch website is also full of good ideas for making parties go with a swing – more information is online here.
