Dorset Road Fix – resurfacing April 2023

In April, our maintenance gangs will be out across the Dorset Council area to repair road damage.

To allow this work to take place safely, the area of the road being worked on will be closed. Signed diversions will be in place.

We will do our best to keep you updated if our schedule of work changes.

  • Barrow Hill, Stalbridge – 3 to 14 April. The road will be closed daily between the hours of 9am and 4pm but it will be open overnight, on Good Friday (7th), Easter Monday (10th) and at weekends.
  • Valley Road, Harman’s Cross – 17 to 22 April 2023. The road will be closed at night between the hours of 8pm and 6am but it will be open daily and at weekends.
  • C12 Old Sherborne Road – 17 to 27 April. The road will be closed daily between the hours of 9am and 4pm but it will be open overnight and at weekends.
  • Manor Farm to Whatcombe House Long Bredy – 28 April to 3 May. The road will be closed daily between the hours of 9am and 4pm but it will be open overnight and at weekends.

This is not an exhaustive list of all repairs. See our online map to view all planned roadworks across the Dorset Council area, including works undertaken by Wessex Water, telecoms companies, National Highways and other organisations.

Spring road preservation schemes

Our spring series of road preservation, a preventative treatment to stop water damage and surface deterioration, will be starting shortly. Look out for details from us in April.

Need to tell us about an issue?

Please use our online form to report highway-related issues/damage. This goes directly to the local community highways officer for assessment.

  1. Hello I like to complain about potholes in all the roads in our area

  2. Would you please arrange to put up speed restriction signs along Wimborne road East as there is no way knowing that you have changed the speed limit from 40 miles an hour to thirty miles an hour thanks.

    1. Hello George, I understand speed limit signs have been placed along Wimborne Road and there are also two A boards at the start of each end of the road just off the roundabouts, these state the new 30mph speed limit is in force. Regards, Claire

  3. No sooner have your road potholes been filled in they are back in the same places bigger than ever.
Does anybody monitor the work and long term value for money?
Local elections are on the way and the feeling around Tuckton is you are not up to the Job.
