Join us this Foster Care Fortnight (15-28 May) to find out more about fostering with Dorset Council.
We will be holding a Fostering Careers Fair at the Dorset Museum on Thursday 25 May, between 2-6pm.
Our fostering team will be attending the drop-in event to answer your questions, talk you through the application process and to go through the 24/7 wrap-around support available.
Existing foster carers will also be attending the event to share their true-life experiences, and attendees will have the opportunity to gain free access to the museum after meeting with us.
Cllr Byron Quayle, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Children, Education, Skills and Early Help, said; “Demand for foster carers in Dorset is high, particularly for teenagers, sibling groups and those with special educational needs or disabilities.
“Our focus is on keeping local children close to their schools, friends, and birth families and to avoid sending them out of the county. To do this, we need more people to foster with us.
“If you’re considering fostering, or would like to find out more, please get in touch or come along to our career event at the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester on Thursday 25th May.”
Our fostering team will be holding multiple drop-in events throughout Foster Care Fortnight where you can meet our existing foster carers and find out more about fostering with Dorset Council.
