Are you looking to make a difference to people living in your community? Do you need some capital funding for your project?
The latest round of the Capital Leverage Fund which is managed by Dorset Council, is still open and welcoming applications for projects which will provide new and improved facilities for communities and residents in the Dorset council area.
The grants can help with funding towards a diverse range of projects, including village hall or community building enhancements, renovations, maintenance, or new build projects, including car parks, play areas, multi-use games areas, theatres, community sports clubs, sports pitches, and landscaping.
There is still time to apply before the next assessment panel is taking place, but applications for this round need to be completed no later than 1 September 2023.
Not for profit Voluntary and Community Sector organisations with an annual turnover of less than £1million can apply, as well as accredited museums, arts organisations, community centres, village halls, town and parish councils, community sports clubs, and youth centres.
We also welcome applications for projects that help to address climate change themes, new public art, heritage projects including accredited museums.
Groups can apply for a capital grant of between £1,000 and £25,000, to fund up to 20% of their total project costs. Successful applicants will be required to secure the remaining 80% of costs before any grant is made available to them.
Projects need to meet at least one of the Dorset Council priorities and at least one of the Cultural Strategy priorities if you are applying as a cultural organisation.
Applications can only be accepted via our online application form and those not received on or before 1st September 2023 will be considered for January 2024 Panel with a decision in February 2024.
Cllr Laura Beddow, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Customer and Community Services, said: “I’m delighted Dorset Council can offer this support to local community and voluntary organisations.
“We know that the previous rounds of grants have significantly boosted many community facilities and made a big difference to residents, helping to make Dorset a great place to live, work and visit.
“We hope to see many applications for these grants in the coming weeks.”
