Additional safety measures

Additional safety measures are being taken to ensure the health and safety of workers in these unprecedented times. We are also working closely with other highway authorities across the south west and with industry bodies to share knowledge of new ways of working.

  • single person vehicle movements both to and from site
  • maintaining current social distancing requirements at all times
  • daily toolbox talks to share the latest safe working guidance and COVID-19 updates
  • daily health screening involving temperature checks and general well-being
  • no high-risk workers on site
  • revised working practices to reduce the number of staff on site while still maintaining health and safety standards when working on the highway
  • changes to site welfare, including additional toilet facilities and hygiene provision

Please be mindful of how you speak to our workforce, they are working within the Government’s guidance for construction activity – that it should continue where it fits with both the current Public Health England requirements and in accordance with industry safety guidance.

  1. Any chance of fixing Lynmoor Road, DT4 7TW. Its in a terrible state and its been promised for years that it would be re-surfaced!

  2. I am disabled and use a electric wheelchair I would now, like to get out seeing that I’ve lock in since the middle of march but I can’t owing to the toilets being CLOSED when will they be open as I would like to get out so I can start getting my Christmas cards I do know that some card shops are open but their toilets are not always suitable for wheelchair access.

  4. Hello,

Having just read that Duck Street, Child Okeford will be closed from 19th – 25th August between 09.00 and 16.00 hrs, for road maintenance, can you please tell me if delivery vehicles would still be able to reach properties or the road will be entirely closed to all traffic during those hours? I have a food delivery arranged for between 4 and 5 p.m. on the 20th – unless that is early (unlikely) it shouldn’t be affected, but have also arranged for a small furnishings delivery from IKEA on the 19th, any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and it will not be straightforward to change. But if you say no vehicles can come through at all whilst you are working, I will have to try to rearrange.

    Thank you.

  5. When are you going to resurface Oakley Lane between Oakley Straight and Canford Magna?

  6. Loincloth Road in wool is like a rough track with the surface damaged. Will this be repaired?
