Congratulations GCSE students, exams latest, ‘where next’ advice and emotional support

We would like to send our best wishes to everyone getting their GCSE and A level results this summer!

Congratulations to all students for their hard work and achievements. We would also like to thank teachers and head teachers for their diligence and resilience during the Coronavirus pandemic in working to establish grades for students.

The Government has announced (view website here ) that students in England will receive teacher assessed grades for GCSE and A level results. Students receiving their GCSE grades today (20/8) will receive their centre assessment grade (teacher assessed grade) from their school or college.

Students who received their A or AS level results last Thursday (13/8) will also be reissued their centre assessment grade (teacher assessed grade). However, if their originally issued calculated grade was higher, than that grade will stand.

Cllr Andrew Parry, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Early Help, said: “I would like to offer my best wishes and pay a special tribute today to all young people in Dorset who are getting A level or GCSE results this summer. Every grade gained is a real achievement.

“Coronavirus has brought big changes to all our lives, and huge challenges for young people who were expecting to take their exams this year.  Thank you for your incredible resilience during this difficult year.
