The 2020 residents’ survey is being undertaken by Information by Design (IbyD) on behalf of Dorset Council. Here’s a link to the survey if you’d like to complete it online.
Information by Design are also conducting the survey by contacting residents by telephone, using random digit dialling. This means that any resident in the council area could be contacted by telephone, even if they are ex-directory.
What questions are being asked?
We are asking about the local area and Dorset Council, including opinions about the council.
What happens about data protection?
Information by Design are company partners of the Market Research Society and work to their code of conduct. Anyone who has concerns about their information being held securely should be advised that all data collected is held in line with the data protection laws, and held securely. Any data collected will not be passed on to any third party or other company.
What will happen to people’s data?
The data that people give will only be used to create a report to be used by the council. Personal data will only be used for analysis and to contact them about topics they request and will be retained for five years. Data will be shared with Dorset Council and will not be shared with any other third parties.
Will the reports be available for the public?
Reports will be given to the council and will be shared online with the public.
What will the council do with the information?
The council will look at the report and will make sure action is taken on the findings.
The survey will close at the end of November.
