This time of year is all about kindness and giving and no one has embodied this more than Gracie-Leigh, a 6 year old pupil from Swanage Primary School. When asked to make a list for Father Christmas, Gracie-Leigh asked for her presents to be given to sick and disabled children in Dorset.
A member of Dorset Council’s Children who are Disabled (CWAD) Support family worker team, who help provide support to families with severe or profound disabilities, heard of Gracie-Leighs request and reached out to her parents. When told of this Gracie-Leigh decided she wanted her donations to be made to the children that CWAD support.
Gracie-Leigh met with Cllr Andrew Parry and 2 members of the CWAD Support team to handover her donations, so they can be passes on to the children, and all she asked for in return is a photograph.
Cllr Andrew Parry, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Early Help, said: “It was lovely to meet Gracie-Leigh and her family, in a socially distanced way of course. It was great to be able to thank her for her kindness and help get the presents distributed to local families this Christmas.”
