We have finished transferring the planning information for the former Purbeck District Council into the new Dorset Council planning platform. This is the fourth phase of six to move all former district, borough, and county planning systems into one.
Once the data had transferred, we tested all areas of planning to make sure there has been no omissions or corruptions. The website is now back up and running. We will be extending consultation deadlines that fell within the downtime (Monday 12 to Thursday 15 July), to allow people additional time to respond
The new system includes some changes in functionality. The online system allows everyone to create their own weekly lists of planning applications, tailored to their particular areas of interest. The council will not be providing weekly lists of planning applications once the data has been migrated to the new system. The website will be developed further once convergence of all our former systems has been completed. When we are at this development stage, we would like to work with you to design tools and functions that will help improve this service.
