Studland became one of the most important World War Two Battle Training Areas in the country with thousands of British and Canadian troops trained here later involved in D Day. With the 80^th Anniversary of Exercise Smash this year we explore the archaeology still in the landscape from this extraordinary time in Studland’s history.

Walk is partly along the beach and there are gentle slopes and uneven ground.

Sensible clothing and footwear are recommended. This walk is about 2 miles long and is expected to last around 2 hours. Walking is mostly on tracks and some on sand, so please wear sturdy footwear. 

This walk is free to attend but if you enjoy your walk, please give a donation to the walk leader on the day.

Booking is required as numbers are limited. The group sizes will be kept small to ensure everyone feels comfortable. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
