Dorset Council’s recovery and reset plans praised by the Local Government Association

Over the summer, Dorset Council developed plans for the ‘recovery and reset’ of both the Dorset Council area and of the council itself, following the first wave of COVID-19. This work was done by a cross-party group of Dorset councillors on an Executive Advisory Panel (EAP) chaired by Deputy Leader, Cllr Peter Wharf.

Voluntary and community

Dorset Council confirms its continued financial support for the voluntary and community sector

Dorset Council’s Cabinet today approved recommendations for continued funding for the voluntary and community sector. The proposals will ensure that the overall levels of funding are maintained, but the new harmonised approach to allocations will ensure equitable funding to organisations across the Dorset Council area.

Rain

The met office has issued a yellow weather warning from Friday morning to Sunday evening for the whole of Dorset.

We’re expecting a significant amount of rainfall and very strong winds, reaching up to 65mph along coastal areas, from 3am Friday morning through to 8pm that evening. Then a further warning for more very heavy rain from 3am Saturday morning through to 6pm on Sunday evening.
