{"id":2586,"date":"2024-11-29T18:44:56","date_gmt":"2024-11-29T18:44:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dcr-staff-area\/?page_id=2586"},"modified":"2025-02-24T08:38:54","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T08:38:54","slug":"information-governance","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dcr-staff-area\/information-governance\/","title":{"rendered":"Information Governance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"clcokncqn00083n6onp7kgikk\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<h4><strong>How to use the DCR system appropriately:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Use it for the\u00a0<strong>sole purpose of the provision of direct care<\/strong> which is any heath or care activity concerned with the prevention, investigation and treatment of illness and the alleviation of suffering of individuals (all activities that directly contribute to the diagnosis, care and treatment of an individual). \u00a0\u00a0It should not be used for any secondary purposes such as research, teaching, needs assessment, financial audit, service management activities or risk stratification for example.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"clgxr0vfx000e3n6uuldhi923\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>Only use it to access data on a patient\/client with whom you have a\u00a0<strong>legitimate care relationship<\/strong>\/when you have a justified reason to access their data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"clcokncqn00093n6ox7p2rv2a\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>Only use the DCR for a<strong>\u00a0work-related purpose<\/strong>. Under no circumstances should you look at your own DCR record, or that of a family member or friend. This is considered a disciplinary offence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"clcokncqn000a3n6oc3gllidl\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>All use and access of information in the DCR system is\u00a0<strong>monitored<\/strong>\u00a0to assure that\u00a0<strong>access is both appropriate and relevant<\/strong>. The DCR keeps a record of who has accessed a record, the time and date when they have accessed it and the information they were viewing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"clfmffrdp00023n6oenrkex1a\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>A patient\/client has the right to request access to the audit trail which details users who have accessed their record in the DCR. They can do this through a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ico.org.uk\/for-the-public\/your-right-to-get-copies-of-your-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Subject Access Request (SAR)<\/strong><span class=\"visually-hidden-always\">(opens in a new tab)<\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cleq39z5k00043n6pex5nkfbk\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>Your continued employment and, where relevant, professional qualification, may be at risk if you access information inappropriately. This may also be illegal and subject to criminal proceedings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cljmu7as7000o3n6tbej5av0k\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>Raise any concerns you may have about\u00a0<strong>breaches of information<\/strong>\u00a0with the\u00a0<strong>DCR Data Protection Officer<\/strong>. All breaches of information are investigated in line with your organisation&#8217;s disciplinary procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cljmu7mqp000q3n6t1rt59vag\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>You must notify the\u00a0<strong>DCR System Admin<\/strong>\u00a0by email\u00a0<b><a href=\"mailto:DCRSystemAdmin@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DCRSystemAdmin@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk<span class=\"visually-hidden-always\">(opens in a new tab)<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/b>of any\u00a0<strong>changes in circumstances<\/strong> that may invalidate your access to DCR, such as changing or leaving your job role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cljmu7w51000s3n6tywtphm69\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>Do\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0copy the data from within the DCR to your source system. You do\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong> have the permission to do so. The Partners are the data controllers and they are only sharing their data into the DCR for the provision of direct care to the residents of Dorset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cljmu97t5000u3n6t9i80oy9p\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>Once you are logged in, you are responsible for everything which is viewed in your name. Do\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong> share the data within the DCR with any parties &#8211; colleagues or the police. While the police may have a justifiable reason and legal basis for the data, please refer them to the source organisations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cltip4zkw00123j6yvfcwl9jh\" class=\"block-list__content brand--linkColor cursorAuto brand--linkColor\">\n<div class=\"fr-view rise-tiptap\">\n<ul>\n<li>Your computer should\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong> be left unattended when you are logged in the DCR.
