Health and social care professionals will be able to see more information in the Dorset Care Record following the successful integration of a significant new release.<\/p>\n
For the first time, allergy information from Dorset County Hospital has been added to the DCR, which will boost clinical safety for people coming in for emergency treatment. It will also be useful for hospital pharmacy prescription teams who will be able to check what has been prescribed with regards to medicine reconciliation.<\/p>\n
Emergency Department encounter information from Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch (RBCH) and Poole Hospitals is also going live shortly. It means that ED encounter information will be available county wide.<\/p>\n
We have made changes to the consent screens reflecting the move, agreed with the Information Commissioner\u2019s Office, to a softer approach of an \u201cinformation sharing discussion,\u201d based on the GDPR \u201cprocessing for public task\u201d principle.<\/p>\n
We are also making progress with one of our pathways. Our maternity clinical portal, has gone live for midwives and health visitors, to allow the transfer of information (TIF) between Midwives and Health Visitors. This was previously a predominantly paper-based system. The transfer of information will enable teams to monitor safeguarding concerns, smoking status and any risks in relation to visiting the expectant mum.<\/p>\n
