As part of the Government\u2019s response to the COVID pandemic a special notice (COPI) was put in place which meant that the training for the Dorset Care Record (DCR) wasn\u2019t mandatory. This meant that we were able to welcome a significant number of additional users to the system in a very short space of time. The COPI notice expired earlier this year and, to try to ensure continuity of access, we have created a process to assure compliance with Information Governance or DCR mandatory training.<\/p>\n
The DCR Programme Board this week (7 November) agreed any health or social care users that have been regularly using the DCR do not have to undergo mandatory training if their mandatory Information Governance training is up to date within their organisation. No further action is needed by the DCR user. The DCR team will work with partner organisations to identify people who have or haven\u2019t completed their mandatory training.<\/p>\n
Those who do not use the DCR frequently or have not completed their organisation\u2019s mandatory Information Governance training are being asked to take the short mandatory DCR information sharing module, which can either be done through facilitated training or on line \u2013 DCR e-learning modules \u2013 Dorset Care Record \u2013 Staff area (dorsetcouncil.gov.uk)<\/p>\n
These DCR users will receive weekly email reminders from the DCR programme management office over four weeks prior to their access being withdrawn.<\/p>\n
Peter Gill, SRO of the Dorset Care Record, said: \u201cWe do not want to lose users, but we need to take action to ensure that information within the system is being shared securely and appropriately.
