Think once, think twice . . . think Skype!

Dorset Council Adults and Communities Head of Service Jon Goodwin is a big fan of Skype for Business.

In this short video Jon’s adapted a 40-year-old road safety campaign slogan to highlight to colleagues how Skype’s video conferencing and online collaboration features can save the council time and money.

Dorset Council staff can use Skype for Business to communicate with individuals or groups of colleagues through:

  • Instant messaging (IM)
  • Voice calls
  • Video calls
  • Online meetings

Jon, who has been with the council for a year, said: “Dorset has really invested in digital, giving people good kit – hardware and software. It’s an innovative and empowering approach.

“For me Skype is an essential tool. It lends itself to good meetings and focuses people on getting agreement and a decision. We make more decisions in a quicker time.”
