Our brilliant volunteer Digital Champions are helping to make a huge difference to people’s lives. One champion, Andy Taylor, recently helped reconnect a woman with her family via Zoom. And this was the feedback we received from the lady’s NHS Link Worker, Vicky Russell:
“I have a patient with mental health issues who has been really struggling with not being able to see her family. Through the local Lion’s Club we managed to get funding for a Fire Tablet and support towards internet access for her. She has used the tablet to gain access to emails etc. but we could not upload Zoom.
“I phoned the Digital Hotline and a wonderful man (Andy Taylor) called me back. We tried to upload things to the tablet over the telephone, but with no success. Andy lives locally and said that he was happy for me to deliver the tablet to him and he would see what he could do. I did and he managed to not only upload Zoom but also typed out instructions on how to use it! We are so grateful – this will make a huge difference to this patient’s mental wellbeing.”
A huge thank you to Andy and all our Digital Champions for the fantastic work you do. If you know anyone who needs help with a device, getting online or any IT issue, get them to call our Digital Hotline on 01305 221048.
