Do you know someone who would love to have some training in basic digital skills? Then this new Essential Digital Skills Qualification from Skills and Learning might be just what they are looking for! And it is free for anyone who needs it.
This training is an opportunity to improve digital skills in a supportive learning environment alongside an experienced IT tutor.
This is a 12-week practical digital skills course which will cover:
- Using devices, handling and storing information
- Creating and editing
- Communicating online (using social media)
- Transacting (buying) online activities
- Being responsible, safe and legal online
The course is classroom based, held during the day or evening, at a variety of centres including Poole, Boscombe, Christchurch, Weymouth, Ferndown, Blandford, Bridport and Dorchester. Places are limited so you do need to book.
Here’s what Stephen Blandamer said about a similar digital training course:
‘Just a quick note to let you know that I’ve started volunteering at Citizens Advice in a IT support assistant role. The role could possibly lead to paid employment. If it wasn’t for the ECDL qualification I would never have had the inclination let alone confidence to even apply for the role.’
Anyone who is interested will be asked to attend an admission session so that they can complete a skills assessment to ensure they are on the right course.
Anyone who completes the training will get a fully accredited qualification.
