We are working to improve your experience of integrated health and social care. In order to achieve this, we are making care records available to health and social care staff in line with current legislation \u2013 the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.<\/p>\n

The UK GDPR gives us lawful reasons to process your personal information, so we don\u2019t need your consent. You can find out more about these lawful reasons by looking at the DCR Privacy Notice<\/a>.\u00a0 Your health and social care professional can talk to you about how your information is shared and tell you how you can opt out<\/a> of the DCR if you want to.<\/p>\n

Opting out will not affect your treatment, but the DCR will make information sharing quicker, easier and more complete, which helps to get you the right treatment at the right time, especially in an emergency situation.
