Here she talks about her role and how myDCR will benefit clinicians and patients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My job is to support people with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) and their families from diagnosis\u00a0 throughout their journey.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m currently using the Dorset Care Record to access information about patients from their community healthcare professionals, which I wouldn&#8217;t normally have access to through the hospital records.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People with MND often have varying levels of disability, which might make accessing their myDCR challenging for them. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So the Circle of Care functionality by which they can provide consent for others &#8211; for example carers, families, friends and anybody else that they wish to have access to their myDCR will ultimately improve the care that patient receives,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Motor Neuron Disease is an uncommon condition that affects the brain and nerves. It causes weakness that gets worse over time.
