Gina Orgec completed the DCR training some years ago while working in the adult social work team at Dorset County Hospital.<\/p>\n
However, it hasn\u2019t been until recently that she has started using the shared care record more regularly in her current role as an adult safeguarding triage worker for Dorset Council.<\/p>\n
\u201cI use it really to check people to see if they have seen their doctor, to get an update on their health needs, and whether they are in hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is much more information in there now and it\u2019s really easy to use, very user-friendly and the team (PMO) is really helpful at sorting out any problems. I think being able to link straight from Mosaic (adults\u2019 system) to DCR has really helped and encouraged me to use it more.\u201d<\/p>\n
As a safeguarding triage worker, Gina takes forward concerns raised by other professionals and by members of the public.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy role is to investigate and see if any further action is needed and signpost people. For example, people may need a referral to a locality team for a Strength and needs assessment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe additional information is really helpful, but it would be great to have more mental health information and useful to see details around lasting power of attorney. Currently, I go to the Office of the Public Guardian for that information,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
The patient portal, myDCR, which is currently being piloted, does include Circle of Care\/my Support Network, which will allow patients to provide details of care dependency support \u2013 whether that\u2019s family, friends or their local GP.<\/p>\n
