Dorset History Centre recently celebrated achieving Accredited Archive Service status from The National Archives.
Accreditation is the process by which the archive service is assessed across a wide range of indicators ranging from finance and governance to collections management and community and stakeholder engagement. Â Assessors from The National Archives also visited Dorset History Centre to meet staff, assess facilities and review the application face-to-face.
Guests enjoyed a tea party and challenging quiz based on our collections. Delicious cake was supplied by the Angel Cake Company and we thank the Old Tea House in Dorchester for kindly donating the quiz prize.
