Year in Review – 2023

Welcome to our annual retrospective of the previous year’s activities across the Archives and Records Service. 2023 was another busy year and our ‘page to a view’ summary hopefully captures some of the key outcomes delivered and the range of activities covered.  These range from our work with collections – notably those of Thomas Hardy and Elisabeth Frink; to the work of colleagues dealing with corporate records on the one hand through to the historic environment and portable antiquities on the other.

It was particularly pleasing to see three of our staff members embark on their Level 7 (Masters) Apprenticeship.  After a lot of hard work, this three-year programme will see them emerge as qualified professionals.

You can keep up to date with the work of the service by signing up for our regular newsletter and by dipping in to the many and varied blogs published on this website.  We’d be happy to respond to any queries or questions raised by this summary – please get in touch.

With best wishes for 2024

Sam Johnston

Service Manager for Archives and Records
