D<\/span>HC<\/span>, as the repository for the written and recorded memory of Dorset is keen to play its part in ensuring that future generations can <\/span>look back on the present day\u2019s experience of <\/span>the coronavirus pandemic and its impact <\/span>across the county, whether that be within <\/span>the setting of village or conurbation.\u00a0 <\/span>To this end, DHC <\/span>working in partnership with Lighthouse, Poole put out a <\/span>call in<\/span> early April for <\/span>\u2018Corona Diaries\u2019.\u00a0 We <\/span>were seeking volunteers to keep a record of their lives and experiences<\/span> during this period<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We were delighted to receive <\/span>over 100 <\/span>responses and have <\/span>been <\/span>in touch with all tho<\/span>se who initially <\/span>contacted us to <\/span>supply guidance on <\/span>format<\/span>s<\/span> and legal permissions <\/span>relating to future access.\u00a0 We <\/span>are well aware that<\/span> there are other people who have <\/span>been in touch<\/span> subsequently, who would like to participate.<\/span>\u00a0 As it stands <\/span>at the moment<\/span> though<\/span>, we are unable to accommodate any more diarists.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n However, w<\/span>e would certainly not discourage anyone from creating their own record (<\/span>documents, photographs, film and sound)<\/span> and would <\/span>suggest that they<\/span> contact us when this crisis is over to discuss whether their diary might be suitable to <\/span>form part of the permanent archival record.<\/span><\/p>\n D<\/span>HC would like to thank all those <\/span>who have contacted us over the \u2018Corona Diaries\u2019 project<\/span>.\u00a0 We wish you well in your <\/span>diary keeping and look forward to discussing the <\/span>next steps of the process when <\/span>the <\/span>current restrictions are lifted.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n DHC is also keen to collect a representative sample of information (hard copy and digital) relating to the impact of Covid-19 \u2013 notices, advice and guidance, official proclamations<\/span> \u2013 anything that helps to explain and
