There are <\/span>two<\/span><\/b> ways in which we would invite the public to help <\/span>to capture the experience and impact of the coronavirus pandemic in Dorset.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Firstly<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>i<\/span>t is clear that w<\/span>e<\/span> are living through <\/span>highly unusual<\/span> times and Dorset History Centre, working in partnership with Lighthouse, Poole would like to make sure that our experiences are captured for posterity.\u00a0<\/span> We would like to recruit <\/span>a number of<\/span> people \u2013 from different ages and backgrounds \u2013 to contribute a \u2018Corona Diary\u2019 to the <\/span>c<\/span>ounty\u2019s archive collections.\u00a0<\/span> The diaries can be in any format – hand written, typed, art works, recordings, photographs \u2013 but we\u2019d like our contributors to commit to making an entry at least every couple of days, and usually every day.<\/span><\/p>\n

As things are changing so fast, there is an urgency to this. If you would like to become one of our diarists, please email us at <\/span>archives@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk<\/span><\/a> and we will get back to you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly<\/span><\/b>, we would like to encourage anyone who has come into possession of <\/span>material<\/span> (digital or hard copy)<\/span>, whether for public or private consumption that reflects life during the pandemic<\/span>, to consider depositing it at DHC once the crisis has passed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
