But this is not the whole story. We collect all types of media and are much more interested in the content than the carrier. Even in the best\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">conditions<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0audiovisual media such as film, videos and cassette tapes will deteriorate over time. The technology used to create and view them has almost vanished. The old camera and VHS tapes are a fascinating glimpse into times gone by. We are looking forward to sharing these with you.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Born-digital <\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Increasingly we are also collecting more and more &#8216;born-digital&#8217; audiovisual archives. Born-digital means they were created on a computer and do not exist in a physical form. For example, excerpts of recordings from a recent oral history project looking at the experiences of the LGBTQ+ community can be enjoyed via\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/user-842672097\/albums\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Soundcloud<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
