What better way to get to get to know what a county archive does than to roll up your sleeves and work alongside us for a month?<\/p>\n

Each summer we host undergraduates and give them an insight into our service. Last year\u2019s students told us that the role was \u2018perfect\u2019 \u2013 they felt well set-up for dissertation research, understood how to source Medieval material and the challenges associated with such old documents, gained an understanding of social history, and had a chance to meet staff in different roles. Our students spent some time on site and some time on remote tasks.<\/p>\n

This year we are planning to host two undergraduate students<\/strong> and the placement is popular, with more applications received than places available.
