target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">previous blog<\/a> we looked at the first three monarchs who reigned in the 20th Century, and in this post we will take a look at the other two ahead of the Coronation of King Charles III&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>King George VI (1936-1952)<\/h2>\n<p>Following the abdication of King Edward VIII, his brother Albert who, using his last name George, became King noreferrer\">D-1674\/6\/9<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Following a prolonged illness and a lung operation George VI failed to recover and died in his sleep on 6<sup>th<\/sup> February 1952 at Sandringham aged 56. a time when not everybody had a television people.
