{"id":4302,"date":"2024-07-05T08:30:29","date_gmt":"2024-07-05T08:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dorset-history-centre-blog\/?p=4302"},"modified":"2024-07-05T08:40:58","modified_gmt":"2024-07-05T08:40:58","slug":"memories-of-a-small-village","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dorset-history-centre-blog\/2024\/07\/05\/memories-of-a-small-village\/","title":{"rendered":"Memories of a Small Village"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A small collection regarding Askerswell Village has recently been donated to Dorset History Centre.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dhc.epexio.com\/records\/D-3396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The collection<\/a> was compiled by Askerswell resident Martin Evans and shows a great insight into the village life throughout the twentieth century.<\/p>\n<p>In 1993, Evans created the Focus 1893 exhibition \u2013 an exhibition that looked back at the last 100 years of the village. Archival materials are best stored on acid-free paper as existing acid in most paper can stain or impact photographic material.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re interested in this collection, it is available to look at in our searchroom.
