This week he explains what the next step was for the project&#8230;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\">&#8212;<\/div>\n<div data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\" data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">A vital part of any project is getting your work to the audience.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"\">In our case getting people listening to our audio dramas quickly and easily without obstacles like downloading apps or logging onto podcast providers.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">We needed people to be able to click a link or scan a code and click play. Instant gratification. So that\u2019s what we did. Drawing on experience from previous projects we built a web player with a familiar look:\u00a0 play\/pause button, +15 and -15 seconds, a picture and brief description of each episode as well buttons for the next or previous episode. We loaded them into our audio player and got the postcards printed in black and white on brown Kraft board. Kathie Prince accompanied on clarinet and the audience joined in from their WWII songsheets as they all sang:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">Potato Pete, Potato Pete,<br class=\"\" \/>See him coming down the street,<br class=\"\" \/>Touting his good things to eat,<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">\u201cGet your hot potatoes from Potato Pete\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">followed by the poignant Shine on Victory Moon made famous by Ivy Benson and her all-girl band:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">In my Dreams I\u2019m waiting in Rainbow Lane\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">To greet my darling back again.<br class=\"\" \/>Shine on Victory Moon, Shine on<br class=\"\" \/>And guide my loved one home.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">It seemed a good fit for episode eight which ends on the evening of June 5th, 1944 the eve of D-Day and a day before a full moon.<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><\/div>\n<div data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4915\" src=\"https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dorset-history-centre-blog\/files\/2025\/11\/Episode8.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"830\" height=\"1472\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dorset-history-centre-blog\/files\/2025\/11\/Episode8.png 830w, https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dorset-history-centre-blog\/files\/2025\/11\/Episode8-169x300.png 169w, https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dorset-history-centre-blog\/files\/2025\/11\/Episode8-577x1024.png 577w, https:\/\/news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk\/dorset-history-centre-blog\/files\/2025\/11\/Episode8-768x1362.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 830px) 100vw, 830px\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">The three primary schools were busy with SATs tests on VE Day, so we brought all 100 children back to the Nothe later in May for a final launch celebration and dance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\">&#8212;<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\"><span class=\"\">In the next part &#8211; Part 4, Dancing the Palais Glide<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(255, 255, 255)\">Can\u2019t wait to listen?
