The Next Round of Business Breakfast Events: ‘Developing Skills – Developing Business’

We are pleased to invite business representatives from across Christchurch and East Dorset to attend the latest of our Going For Growth business breakfast networking events. The theme for these events will be ‘Developing Skills – Developing Business,’ providing an excellent platform for local businesses to engage with schools, colleges and universities. Part of our ongoing economic development programme, the events will address the importance of working together to encourage growth in our local economy.

The events will take place at two local schools, one in Christchurch and the other in East Dorset. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear how businesses are successfully using young, local talent to thrive. The first of the events will be held on Wednesday 9th March at Highcliffe School and the other on Thursday 10th March at Queen Elizabeth School. Both events will start at 7:45am and end at 9:30am.

Following the theme of ‘Developing Skills – Developing Business,’ we will be bringing together representatives from both businesses and schools to discuss ways in which building relationships can benefit business growth in our area. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear case studies on successful Apprenticeship schemes in the presence of teachers and young people.

Cllr Claire Bath, Portfolio Holder for Economy Christchurch Borough Council said:

“We are delighted to invite businesses to attend the latest in our business breakfast networking events ‘Developing Skills – Developing Business.’ The March events will provide an important networking opportunity for schools, businesses, business support and skills development organisations.’’

Cllr Simon Tong, Portfolio Holder for Economy East Dorset District Council said:

“Events of this kind help build strong business relationships, ensuring our local economy continues to grow. Our next events will focus on making sure young people acquire the essential skills and knowledge that local businesses require.’’

Previous Going For Growth Business Breakfast events have been highly successful in developing and supporting businesses throughout the community. Places are limited, so we strongly encourage businesses to book their place by Wednesday 2nd March to avoid disappointment.
