20th January: TRENCHES – ST YVES
H.Q. and D Coy shelled by Whizz Bang Battery but with no effect. One piece of shell spoilt Sergt Major Lawrence’s dinner by breaking the plate. There was an issue of Gooseberry Jam in lieu of Plum & Apple today. Relieved by 2nd R.Dublin Fus at night & Batt. marched to billets at LA CRECHE. Continue reading

A little shelling. Trenches a little drier than what they have been. No casualties.
17th January: TRENCHES – ST YVES
Head Quarters shelled by Whizz Bangs 3 times during the day. A little sniping. 1 killed 3 wounded.
16th January: POINT 63
Relieved 2nd R.Dublin Fusiliers at ST YVES trenches in the evening at 5pm. No casualties.
15th January: POINT 63
Working parties found for R.E.[Royal Engineers]. Quiet day. Captain Burnard rejoined the Battalion.
18th January: TRENCHES – ST YVES
Less shelling today. Snipers busy. Part of “A” Coys Trench fell in. No casualties.
14th January: POINT 63
Working parties for R.Engineers. One shell burst behind COURT DREVE FARM.
13th January: POINT 63
Digging and Hutment parties found during the day. Wet miserable day.
12th January: TRENCHES – ST YVES
Quiet day, little sniping. No casualties. Relieved by 2nd R.Dub Fus [Royal Dublin Fusiliers] in evening & moved to billets at POINT 63.
