Shelled in morning & again from 6 to 7pm & intermittently during the day. A good many Germans seen moving on FRESENBURG RIDGE at dusk. Orders received for us to be relieved but were afterwards cancelled. Fine.

10th May: WARWICK FARM
Improved & cleaned up trenches, got settled in at 4 am. Heavily shelled during the day especially “C” Coy on left. 4 killed 3 wounded.
9th May: WARWICK FARM (C29c)
Quiet morning. About 2 pm Enemy bombarded our trenches & continued till 6 pm. Part of line where no trench existed fell back & reformed in wood behind. “C” & “D” Coys held on & at dusk Trenches were reoccupied & strengthened. At midnight the Welch Regt. took over our line & we took over their position in the G.H.Q. [General Head Quarters] trench, in Support.

Orders to hold ourselves in readiness to move received 11a.m. Regiment & 2nd R. Dublin Fusiliers marched off at 4.15pm to go up in support of 84th Brigade & proceeded via Bridge 1a & by brook to POTIJZE CHATEAU. Continue reading

Resting. Very little shelling into our area. 2nd Lieuts.C.H.Morris, T.D.Dixon, F.D.Elkington, & G.Crawford-Wood and 410 Other Ranks arrived at 11pm from 3rd Battalion. A fair lot of men.
4th May: SHELL TRAP FARM
Received orders to leave & at 3.30am we marched via French Bridge over YSER CANAL to a bivouac in a field with Canadian Troops. Field situated on left of main VLAMERTINGHE- YPRES ROAD. A great relief after the last 10 days.
3rd May: SHELL TRAP FARM
Heavily shelled during the morning, quiet in afternoon until about 4 pm when a cloud of German Gas was seen arriving catching 2 Regiments in the firing line which broke, the gas came on to us. Some of our men went back, but we formed up as many as possible & made a line in rear. Germans attempted an attack from the wood which was repulsed with loss. These last 3 days had shaken the Regiment up & affected the Morale of the Regiment & we are in great need of a rest.
2nd May: SHELL TRAP FARM
“C” &”D” Coys [companies] heavily shelled in the early morning. 3 killed 4 wounded. Rest of day fairly quiet.
