Dear Sir,
This message only to say that right now I am writing an article about Major Charles G. Massie Blomfield. For the Facebook page of a cemetery in my village, Talana Farm Cemetery, where the major was buried. (Boezinge, near Ypres (Ieper).)
What Sergeant Major Beck wrote in his diary is not really extremely important to me (only two or three lines, about the same as in the 1st Bn. Royal Warwickshire Regiment War diary), but I am glad he did. And that you put it on the internet.

Maybe I pushed the button once too many, but it gives me the opportunity to give the URL of my website (no longer updated after 2004 though). But I used to be a member of a team of amateur-archaeologists (The Diggers), and we were active on the former battlefield in my village where Major Blomfield was killed.
Let there be misunderstanding however : I wrote a lot on my (late) website about the area, but Major Blomfield is not mentioned there. I did not learn about him until a year ago.
