Brig General A.Hull visited trenches at 11 am. Heavy shelling on our front line from 4 to 8 pm. Heavy Rifle fire from German trenches at 5.30 pm lasting about 10 minutes. 2/Lieut G.F.Hewitt & 37 men joined Battalion from Base. Lieut G.H.Pollock died of wounds at 10th Field Ambulance. 1 man killed & 2 wounded.
