Fine sunny day. Aircraft active on both sides. Relieved 2nd R.DUB.FUS. in trenches at night. Quiet relief, no casualties.

Beautiful day. Working Parties as usual. Enemy shelled football ground in rear of village when match was in progress but they were all “Dud” ones.

Fine morning, rain in afternoon. Village shelled a little. Usual Working Parties for R.E. found Battalion. Very dark night.

Battalion found usual Working Parties for R.E.  Bathing parades & issuing of clean clothes. Village shelled by Field Guns in early morning. Draft of 27 found from Base.

25 Mar. Trenches – MONCHY

Fairly Quiet day. A few Field Gun Shells sent at our front line in the evening – no damage. Battalion relieved by 2nd R.DUB.FUS at 7.30 pm & marched back to Bienvillers – very dark night.

24 Mar. Trenches – MONCHY

Snowing & very cold. Coys. Working on Trenches. We fired several Rifle Grenades into German Trenches & enemy retaliated with same. Enemy snipers active at night. 6 men joined from Base.

Snowed and very cold. Trenches in a very wet state. H.Q. Trench shelled in evening, no damage. Enemy shelled our front line in afternoon. Coys. Working on trenches – SHELL ST. cleaned & new dump started on. Cold frosty night.

Cold fine day. Work carried on of improving trenches. Very little shelling. Snipers inactive. First appearance of a “Trench  Prawn” fired by enemy. Dark night.
